Every generation pick someone as favorite. That someone
is talented and could be a war hero, actor, artist or anything, even a guitarist.
Steven Siro Vai, notably Steve Vai, having a deep technical
knowledge about music and instruments his guitar playing is described as
lyrical. The playing style is considered as quirky and angular. He uses odd
rhythmic groupings and often uses Lydian mode for the melodies. Steve Vai uses
his signature Ibanez JEM, Ibanez Edge and lo-Pro Edge double-locking tremolo. He
also uses many of his guitars with an Ibanez Backstop, tremolo stabilizer. Nowadays
he uses True Temperament fretboards for the guitars to make his chords sound
more in tune. He is one of the very few who uses 7-strings model designed by
him branded as Ibanez Universe.
He mastered the guitar from another one of a kind guitarist Joe Satriani and started his career with local bands. Soon he attracts Frank Zappa and became one of the band members. After leaving Frank Zappa he moved to California. He played with Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth and Whitesnake. The G3 consert tour features Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and a third guitarist, such as Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Yngwie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Robert Fripp, Paul Gilbert, Steve Morse, Steve Lukather, Uli Jon Roth, Michael Schenker, Adrian Legg.
